Home > company > Overview Dongjin Semichem LTD., Co. is a company that produces semiconductor and LCD use materials and foaming agents. Mentioned materials that we produce are Photoresists and EMC's (Epoxy Molding Compound). Dongjin was established in 1967 and accomplished in being the first to develop PVC and rubber foaming compound in Korea and has since then gone on to set its localization as our foundation in transforming into a foaming agent exporter in 1973. In 1992, our overseas production plant was completed in Indonesia and Dongjin has continuously undergone expansions and new product developments to possess production capabilities of 20,000 metric tons annually and 35% world market share as an UNICELL company that exports to numerous countries around the world. A manufacturing method capable of cutting production costs in half, the Biuret manufacturing method, has been developed and is now being implemented at our Indonesia plant. Dongjin has started producing foaming agents utilizing this method at about the first quarter of 2003 and it is expected to enable us to not only recover those territories lost to low-priced products from China, but generate net profit as well.   With the reputation and technologies accumulated over the years, Dongjin Semichem made a pioneering investment into a new business in the early 80's and is now seeing the results from that move. That business is one being considered by many as the core of technological fields in the future, semiconductor/LCD materials. In order to enter into the semiconductor material market with EMC, Dongjin developed semiconductor use Photoresists, material laid over wafers (silicon crystals used to configure minute circuitry on semiconductors) in succession to the U.S., Germany, and Japan in 1983. Moreover, Dongjin succeeded in accomplishing the first self-development of Photoresists in Korea. With the completion of the Balan plant in 1995, Dongjin localized importation relied semiconductor materials and at the same time, materialized international market capture by establishing a regional corporation in Taiwan also in the same year. Dongjin Semichem produces virtually all materials essential in semiconductor/LCD productions such as photoresists, thinners, developers, strippers, CMP slurries, epoxy molding compound, and melamine mold cleaning compound. This is a rare case in the world. In the year 2000 for Dongjin was one of a new leap. With the completion of Balan plant's second complex composed of large-scale facilities and a state of the art research lab, Dongjin Semichem rose to the top ranks in the semiconductor material production industry. Composed of three production lines and one research lab, the completion of Balan plant's second complex allowed Dongjin to obtain a full scale mass production setup and simultaneously, doubled the production of semiconductor materials such as thinners, strippers, and etc. Furthermore, expanding the latest research development facilities made ways as a stepping-stone to lead in an era of unlimited competition. Facing 2001, Dongjin has established another plant in Taiwan for full-scale penetration into the global market and in doing so, has set up conditions not only to lead in the Taiwanese market but in the global market as well.
